There are a few pieces of information that you will need before figuring out which red dot mount you need.
Step 1. Who is the Manufacturer of your Firearm?
The manufacturer is the company who made your firearm. Common manufacturers are Glock, Smith & Wesson, Sig Sauer, Ruger and H&K. There are lots of less common manufacturers out there but don't fret. If you have a firearm from a lesser known manufacturer, we still might have a mount for you.
Step 2. What is the Model of your Firearm?
Knowing the model of your firearm is very important when selecting a scope mount. Manufacturers make many different models and that helps narrow your search. One specific example is Sig Sauer (we make 38 different plates for Sig!). The red dot mount for the M17 and M18 is different than the mount for the P226. Manufacturers use different rear sight cuts on different models. We try to update our site as often as possible with new models and fitment.

Step 3. Which Red Dot Manufacturer and Red Dot Model do you want to mount?
This is the last and most crucial step when selecting your red dot mount. Red dot manufacturers also don't make it easy. Sig Sauer uses at least 3 different footprints for their red dots, Holosun and Vortex have different models that use different footprints too. We always recommend knowing the exact red dot manufacturer AND model you are going to use. You can filter on our site by the red dot brand and model you want to use.
