Savage Rimfire Picatinny Rail Fitment Guide

Identify the exact Savage rimfire model, confirm the one fitment detail that matters, and choose the correct EGW rail.

Quick answer

Savage rimfire rails are selected primarily by the exact rifle model. Most families then offer a choice of 0 or 20 MOA, but several models have one specific rail or require one additional fitment check.

Normal MOA recommendation: Choose 0 MOA when most shooting is at 100 yards or less. Choose 20 MOA when most shooting is beyond 100 yards. Some model-specific rails are available only in 0 MOA.

Find your Savage rimfire family

Mark II or Model 93
Confirm the ejection-port opening: 1-3/8 inches or 1-5/8 inches.

A17 or A22
The current A17/A22 family fits A17, A22 Magnum, and old or new A22 LR receivers.

B17 or B22
These models share one rail family. Confirm that the rifle is not a B.MAG.

B.MAG
The B.MAG uses its own mount family and does not use the B17/B22 rail.

Model 64
Confirm that the receiver was factory drilled and tapped. Dovetail-only rifles are not compatible.

Rascal
Choose by sight type and, for an ejection-port-cut rail, left- or right-side ejection.

Model 42 or 42T
Use the dedicated Model 42 rail. It is available in 0 MOA.

Savage Mark II and Model 93

The Mark II and Model 93 are based on the same receiver family. Their mounting-hole spacing is the same; the difference between these rail families is the length of the ejection-port cut.

Check the ejection port before ordering. A factory AccuTrigger identifies the newer 1-5/8-inch ejection-port receiver. Without an AccuTrigger, the rifle may use either the 1-3/8-inch or 1-5/8-inch opening, so measure the length of the ejection-port opening.

1-3/8-inch ejection port

Use the older Mark II rail family: SKU 41500 for 0 MOA or SKU 41502 for 20 MOA.

1-5/8-inch ejection port

Use the Model 93/newer Mark II rail family: SKU 41600 for 0 MOA or SKU 41602 for 20 MOA.

If the holes do not line up: First confirm that the rail has the correct 1-3/8-inch or 1-5/8-inch ejection-port cut. Some Mark II and Model 93 receivers have factory holes that are not exactly in the expected location. An undrilled EGW base may be drilled by a qualified gunsmith to match that individual receiver. EGW does not provide drilling services, and undrilled bases are not part of the normal product-selection path.

Savage A17 and A22

The current A17/A22 rail family fits the Savage A17, A22 Magnum, and A22 LR with both the older and newer A22 LR hole patterns. The former A22 LR-specific SKU 41983 should not be used for new recommendations.

No production-year question is needed. Use the current A17/A22 rail family and choose 0 or 20 MOA.

Savage B17/B22 and B.MAG

Confirm the exact B-series model. Customers sometimes call a B.MAG a “B22,” but the B.MAG uses a different rail. If the model is described only as a Savage “B” rimfire, confirm whether it is a B17/B22-family rifle or a B.MAG.

Savage Model 64

The EGW Model 64 rail fits Model 64 receivers that were factory drilled and tapped. It can also fit a factory-drilled-and-tapped Model 64 Takedown when the rail is turned around so the overhang faces the rear.

Dovetail-only Model 64: EGW does not offer a mount for a Model 64 that has only the factory dovetail and no factory scope-base screw holes. Do not drill the receiver based on this article.

Savage Rascal

Choose a Rascal rail according to the sighting system and the rifle's ejection side.

Traditional scope or red dot
