Ruger Precision Rifle Picatinny Rail & Scope Base Fitment Guide

Identify whether your Ruger Precision is a Rimfire, standard Centerfire, or Magnum model before selecting an EGW Picatinny rail.

Identify your Ruger Precision model

Ruger Precision Rimfire

Use the Rimfire rail if your firearm is specifically marked as a Ruger Precision Rimfire. This includes all available Ruger Precision Rimfire calibers.

Ruger Precision Rifle—Centerfire

Use the standard Centerfire rail for a non-magnum Ruger Precision Rifle. This rail uses four mounting screws and has approximately 2.757-inch center spread.

Ruger Precision Magnum

Use the Magnum rail only for a firearm specifically identified as a Ruger Precision Rifle Magnum. Its receiver has approximately 2.314-inch center spread.

If you are unsure which model you own, check the firearm’s exact model designation and caliber before ordering.

Choose the correct MOA

Rimfire recommendations

• 0 MOA: The normal choice for typical rimfire distances from 0–100 yards.
• 20 MOA: Recommended for extended rimfire shooting around 150–300 yards.

Centerfire and Magnum recommendations

• 0 MOA: The normal choice when most shots are taken from 0–500 yards.
• 20 MOA: Recommended when most shots are taken from 600–1,000 yards.
• 30 MOA: For specialized setups used primarily from approximately 1,000–1,500 yards.
• 40 MOA: For advanced long-range setups used beyond approximately 1,500 yards.

Choose the MOA for the distance where most shots will be taken. Before selecting 30 or 40 MOA, confirm that the scope has enough internal adjustment to zero properly.

Ruger Precision Rimfire rails

Ruger Precision Rifle—Centerfire rails

These rails fit the standard non-magnum Ruger Precision Rifle. They do not fit Ruger Precision Rimfire or Magnum models.

Ruger Precision Magnum rails

These rails fit the Ruger Precision Rifle Magnum. They do not fit Rimfire or standard non-magnum Precision rifles.

Before ordering

• Confirm whether the rifle is Rimfire, standard Centerfire, or Magnum.
• Select one mount only from the corresponding section above.
• Choose the MOA that matches your normal shooting distance.
