Weatherby Model 307 Picatinny Rail & Scope Base Fitment Guide

Choose the correct Weatherby Model 307 action length, then select the appropriate MOA.

Quick fitment: Weatherby Model 307 rifles use either a short-action or long-action rail. These rails are made specifically for the Model 307 and are not interchangeable with Weatherby Mark V or Vanguard rails.

1. Determine the action length

If the rifle’s action length is unknown, measure the center-to-center distance between the two middle receiver screw holes and compare it with the measurements above.

3. Weatherby Model 307 long-action rails

4. Choose the MOA

  • 0 MOA: The normal choice for shooting primarily from 0 to 500 yards.
  • 20 MOA: Recommended for shooting primarily from approximately 600 to 1,000 yards.
  • 40 MOA: Intended for specialized extreme long-range setups. Confirm that the scope has enough internal adjustment to obtain the desired zero.

Choose the MOA based on the distance at which most shots will be taken.

5. Installation information

  • Machined from 7075-T6 aluminum
  • Compatible with Picatinny and Weaver-style scope rings
  • Includes #8-40 x 1/4-inch mounting screws and a T-10 bit
  • Recommended torque: 20 inch-pounds
  • Use a small drop of blue threadlocker during installation
